We’ve been pretty goosed for these guys to come over for awhile. Having gotten into dance music by going to see legends like Soulwax/2manyDJs, Boys Noize, and old Ed Banger etc. …. we are beyond excited to be the first to bring over to the USA the young Aussie talent that seems to now carry that old school techno flag today.
Jordan and Mikey of Light Year are a couple of dudes who are around our same age (Mikey actually turns 26 on the day of our V lounge party with them… definitely going to roofie him on stage) who have been dropping a different style of dance floor bomb on the regular for the last year…. party starter tech house (Marcellus), grind-on-a-random-chick techno stompers (Sex Education), loose funky disco (The Pop shot), and even amazing top-of-the-heap remixes (…remember Toecutter Best Party ever…?).
Thrilled to be providing them with what the necessities for a proper USA vacation, which they claim as “a big bag of cali green and some fake titties in our faces”. Oh yeah, and we’ve also got them some tour dates (see poster above) and a place to crash (don’t let your sister ride her bike around Venice Beach this May).
